Precisely. If I talk to other non-investment professionals, EVERYONE is talking about "quiting their job (working partime, instead) and taking up trading for a living. There is so much liquidity from 4 years of 20+ gains, people are throwing money at ANYTHING. It's a sad commentary. Do we have this figured out? Buy the dips, buy only large cap winners (risk on CSCO/MSFT/INTC = 0), and speculating on internet stocks. No wonder. If people can't do it at the tables or bingo or scratch cards, they do it online via their brokers. Here's another chilling thought: What happens when all the boomers pull their money out of their retirement plans to live off when they retire? Young guys like you better be ready to fund them... Until then, tell your dad to not give up his day job...<g> One more thought: Although distant and many wounds have healed, if you want some reality, go back to your August or September or October 1998 statements and reflect on the pain you felt as you opened and read them.
