Some news from Hecla;

Jan 8,1999

Hecla Mining (NYSE:HL) of Coeur d'Alene will sell its
aggregate and landscaping bark subsidiary, according to
a report published today in the Spokesman-Review.
Proceeds would be used mainly to finance Latin American
gold projects.

The paper says the profitable subsidiary, MWCA Inc. of
Rexburg, has annual sales of US$ 20 to 30 million. MWCA
is part of Hecla's profitable industrial minerals segment.
There was no mention of a buyer or a sale date.
