suspended animation at near the speed of light that would mean no support for life will be needed at all until
deceleration? During flight if there was a light on would that light bend backwards, never reflecting off anything
and never reaching the eyes making it completely black in the ship? Light would be like smoke blown in the
wind, always behind the ship.<

No. The whole idea of relativity is that things are relative. On board the ship, light will move straight&true, and people will want air and beer. Of course - the view out the portholes would be mighty weird.
For light to blow like smoke implies something doing the blowing. Some sort of Basic Frame of Reference. The power of relativity is - there is no Null Frame. Everything is in motion relative to everything else.
After all, to folks on a quasar (if they have real good scopes) we look like we're hauling butt into the redshift. But of course we KNOW they are the ones moving... <ggg>
