I think CPQ splits 2:1 in July after pushing through 100 only if they announce a spin-off of Alta Vista or they make a separate division out of it, thus giving the perception of a future spin-off. The board will also have to increase the number of shares they can issue. Right now it is only 3 billion. That is not enough for a 2:1 split. If no announcements on Alta-Vista, I am afraid CPQ does not split again until Nov. 2000. I think Y2K and millenium issues keep CPQ from moving too high this fall.
