Jorge, you said "PlanetRx.com, the first serious online drugstore;AOL pockets a $15 million fee, delivers 15 million potential customers".
It goes further than that. Wall Street Jour had an article few days ago how drug stores have sometimes a 1000% mark up on generic drugs: drug costs 3-4 cents/pill they sell it for 30 cents/pill, because generics are so cheap to make and drug stores take advantage of that.
It will be in no time that an enterpneur will BEGIN TO SELL GENERIC DRUGS AT JUST A LITLE BIT ABOVE COST on the net through AOL.Watch ( listen?) for a giant cash flow sound into AOL.They will not be restricted by having to carry other more expensive drugs since you don't have to be a full scale drug store. Just sell meat and potatoes ( look at McDonald's ). And, and, that is just in time to beat the rapidly forthcoming helathcare's industry recession (IMHO) due to rapidly rising Health Insurance fees.
Let us all sing together now,
"only the cheap survive, only the cheap survive, la, la, la, AOL,AOL,AOL "
