Mike,

4. Bill Alpert touts Legato, one of my former put hero stocks, Network Appliance, the worst named co. in the biz, and Veritas, which is in vino. <G> These stocks are selling at or near all-time highs and for tiny pe ratios of 75-100x current eps. I'm glad he dug down and reported on some undiscovered stocks. <VBG>

For anyone who is interested the article is re-printed here in SI in the Ancor Communications thread:

I don't know if the two companies you talk about above are overpriced or not. Storage Area Networking(and hence Fibre Channel), however, is going to be big, by most accounts:

There certainly aren't many stocks in this sub-sector that are cheap anymore but MTIC is one and ANCR possibly another. All the big cap names seem to have been run up. As far as NTAP, remember that Mickey Dell has tapped them to provide networked file servers to his customers starting in the first half of this year, and revenues without even Mickey's help are simply exploding. I don't know, maybe companies are paying NTAP's sales people huge amounts of money to NOT call on them. -g- But you are right, the stocks Alpert mentioned in the article are definitely not undiscovered gems.

FWIW - I am playing this potential market explosion with ANCR, which I paid $1.75 for at the end on October. So far, so good. A good, news only(more or less) thread to follow events in the Fibre Channel/SANs world is here in SI at:
