From SSPARSONS....

Jens,

As I stated in my last message to you, I am very surprised that ARET has failed to communicate to the shareholders with regard to the Cottonwood situation. I understand that the focus of attention recently has been related to FAMC. However, even in the quarterly released during the summer, there was some mention of Cottonwood and its ultimate importance to ARET down the road.

John D. has mentioned that he is going to get through to the company on Monday to check in on this Cottonwood matter. More to my surprise is the threads (both SI and AOL) lack of interest with this deal. I have a feeling that the answer is, "we have seen this all before with no fruition". I can't argue with people that feel this way. The company has let us down so many times it is hard to make heads or tails as to what is valid or invalid. This in particular applies to the information which came out of those press releases during the summer of '98.

However, people have stated that February may spring some news that could help our situation. Folks familiar with ARET have suggested that Delmar has worked feverishly on the Construction side of the business...perhaps Cottonwood is the proof. I want to reiterate the importance of this press release if in fact Cottonwood is an ARET subsidiary. Oasis and Cottonwood plan on purchasing 217 lots and market them for approximately $25,000 each. That is approximately $5.5 million USD. Some of the homes that will be built on this land will cost between $120,000 to $170,000. How much revenue intake Cottonwood gets in all this is extremely interesting and the fact that they want to start in on this in only 5 months is even more appealing.

Finally, I think this piece of information is important to stir up interest in the company...something that has been lacking for months. In particular, I am really surprised more people are not posting their opinion about this Cottonwood news to SI and leaving other elements aside that have little or no consequence with our company.
This news release may not have been released by ARET but it should have put a jolt of intelligent conversation back into the threads that cover ARET.

In any case, I am looking forward to John D's research on Monday. Lets hope this may kick things off for the construction side of ARET's business for 1999 because it sure as heck didn't do a blessed thing during calendar year 1998.

Regards,
Steve alias SSPARSONS
