The biggest problem with investing is not deciding what to buy and when but deciding when to sell? So says Downsouth with respect to my statement that I own AOL and YHOO. In the case of those two stocks, I have bought them as long term holds (5-10 years) within the context of building a diversified portfolio which I pick from the Money 30 and Wired 40 indexes. Those indexes give me a good starting point, which is heavily tech weighted. My positions in AOL and YHOO are relatively small positions in my overall portfolio, but I can't complain about their performance (%300 and %150) since I bought them in July. Can you say brand name? We are at the start of the Internet era, the very early stage. I'm not planning on selling these. In part, they'll pay for houses, kid's education, etc down the road.
