It was once a money-losing manufacturer of climate control systems, with a market value of $40 million. It acquired web site designer Rare Medium for $45 million, then announced it was going to spin off its air conditioning business and rename itself Rare Medium. The company remains, temporarily anyway, ICC Technologies. But it is now worth $125 million. How foolish of the Rare Medium owners to sell the company for only $45 million, when the average investor on the street could tell that the value was really $125 million.... C.
