That was 1995. This is a new company. Softram95 is no longer the issue.

Just jumped into SI tonight only to find 164 messages in this thread that I haven't read yet, so don't know if I'm jumping into the middle of an argument or what.

Anyway, Softram, while no longer *the* issue, is an issue nonetheless. When the new SoftRAM is released, the company will definitely have something to prove.

Expect the magazines to pick this one to pieces. Remember, it was not only SYCR that was embarassed in the SR95 debacle, all of the magazines that tested it got a major black eye, too. They won't make that mistake twice.

The first test of SoftRAM will be in the magazines. If they give it a thumbs-up, it'll be for real this time.

However, though I expect there to be some SoftRAM sales, I don't personally expect those sales to be very high. I'm banking on Windrenalin. Real RAM is extremely cheap these days and imposes no performance overhead. Any software that compresses and decompresses memory definitely carries noticeable overhead. I quit using MagnaRAM for those reasons.
