Juster, last month you asked Zeev about patents and if a company might be working on that wind-up power device for applications. There is also another area of interest that at present is not ready to have a big impact until certain manufacturing problems are solved. But if a breakthru in current research could unlock barriers, then this product could be big. The first applications could be in medicine, and on this thread I see a Howard D. Epstein, M.D. as a poster, so maybe he could note for you where to research, if you choose to look into this. I'll list key words to describe so searches can be done. buckeyballs fullerenes buckminsterfullerene Rice University carbon nanotube therapeutic agents in medicine flat panel displays field emission problem IBM Watson Research Center, Nanometer Scale group Presently, cost is high. Tubes@Rice (Rice University) sells purified nanotubes for $2,000 a gram. cnst.rice.edu CarboLex (University of Kentucky at Lexington) not purified at $200 gram. Gold is around $? a gram.
