No doubt in my mind that this recent feverish upside activity and volume was caused by Harmon's report. Just look at the other stocks he recommended - CMGI and GNET in particular went wild, but all the others have boomed too. This was one of the last to move.
A second thought is that I read where they announce earnings on the 12th, which is one of the earliest firms to do so and they will have a conference call at 4:30 that day. That source also said they expect BYND to meet their estimate - $12.5 Million. That compares with $9.7 mil last qtr and is in line with recent growth rate. That would mean about $36 mil for this past year. 1999 projection by same is $87 mil and same kind of % growth for 2000. Like all of these internet stocks, projecting even '99 is fraught with risk and 2000 projections are purely crystal ball guesses. At any rate they would be running now at better than $50 mil. That equates to current mkt value as being about 16 times sales, and 1999 only 9 or 10x. Not crazy for these times, but this is one stock I think could earn into its price in time, whereas many others have no chance as I see it. Hate to get so fundamental in these "tulip days", but someone needs to do it. I still hold this one and looking for at least another 20%, unless this whole internet market turns south. This is a real company and I think their diversity of customers, including gov't accounts, can prove a real viable business. THE BIG ? for the next couple of days is - Will BYND results exceed the estimates? That could be interesting if it did. Here's hoping!
