Cable companies do not generally wire business areas, they don't have that many customers. besides, you have to remember that a network provider has to manage the bandwidth he sells, including service level agreements. They can't sell a business the same service they sell to a residential customer when that business is going to use it 1000% more.

There is NO WAY cable modem service will compete with DSL in the business market. Cable modems are a shared media, and most implementations have limited upstream capability.

The cable modem vs DSL debate is so over analyzed it is ridiculous. It only applies to the residential market, not the business market. @Home even has a business unit called @Work, and guess what, they offer T1, DSL and frame relay, but not cable modems. Go to their website and check it out.
