re: PII Celeron with 128 cache

I ordered the TC Computer bundle with the 450 pentium, & recent posts have focussed on the celeron. Your skeletal rundown is clear-thank you!- & I'm probably really getting into reality-mangling (sorry, ignorance, esp of the significance of clocking speeds). What I infer is Yikes the celeron combo is just as fast & $500 cheaper! At the same time, it seems unlikely that Intel would shoot themselves in the foot to that extent (why would anyone buy the pentioum 450?). Any comments would be appreciated.
Incidentally, I came to this thread when I decided it was better to get a new computer than pay $700 for a multi-monitor card. My current pc has a disabled onboard card due to Win 98 multimonitor setup, & its 2 PCI slots handle my 2 monitor setup with 2 cards. This is fine as far as it goes.
I have talked with 2 salespeople at TC & the knowledgeability varied. But you probably have someone good as you have dealt with them before. d.alexander
