Jebj,

Very good point! I'm not very well versed in options, only did a few times as a beginner, not such good results, I might add.

My only concern is that when I'm shorting a stock, I usually get in very quickly, watch it like a hawk, then exit even more quickly. Often the trade only lasts 2-8 minutes or so. Sometimes, when it's clear to me that I am on the wrong side of the trade, I decide to get out almost immediately after getting confirmation that I am short the stock.

From my brief experience with options, I don't think you can get into them and exit them that quickly, preventing me from doing the kinds of trades I am doing. And I thought option commissions were generally higher. Is is really possible to open and close option positions as quickly as we do these equity daytrades, and do option prices change quickly enough generate a profit that would justify being in a position for only a few minutes at a time?
