Larry, You might want to have a look at another patent application:
patents.ibm.com
This appears to be a process that would rival CGEE's. Furthermore, there is a clear "issued" date. In fact, there are a further four patented methods, patent numbers which I will provide if you are interested, which could be considered as competition. You should also notice the elaborate referencing concerning Foreign References, Other References, U.S. References, and Related Applications. In contrast, the patent WO9808923A1, that is held by CGEE insiders, lacks an "issued" date, as the following page will verify:
patents.ibm.com
Further, there is no referencing whatsoever to "Foreign References" on the CGEE page, which seems odd, if in fact their process is apparently in current use in several European countries. Nor is there any references made to any other related applications.
According to IBM, which runs the Intellectual Property Network that I have been using for information, their info is current, and there are references to patents that have been granted to other companies as recently as January 5, 1999 (on the above link).
All this may not matter one bit for the stock price, but if I were subscribing to their financing, I would be asking some questions.
