Doesn't sound like a thief to me, sounds like a stroke of genius, or a shrewd business person. He paid them 50K, they willingly sold it, and that makes him a thief??? Maybe I am missing something?

And thus a developer becomes "owned" by the company, and is not allowed to work for any other companies...ever, even if the first company is not paying them anymore??

A beg to differ, MS and Sybase had a joint venture for several years that gave them full access to all of the source code, Sybase developed and marketed to the unix market and Microsoft took care of the OS/2 market.

Don't you think if MS "stole" the code from Sybase, they would have sued, and won, by now??
