JUST GOT BACK FROM THE CONSUMERS ELECTRONIC SHOW IN LAS VEGAS... In my opinion, Emerson's doing everything they can to complete their turnaround and TO INCREASE SHAREHOLDER VALUE! Spoke for 20 minutes with Gene Rissotto head of marketing at Emerson. Here's the scoop... People in the consumer cataloug industry approached Emerson WITH INTEREST to possibly get some deals going. This CES show was huge and brought in companies from all over the world! The location for showing Emersons products was excellent. Emersons displays were quite impressive. They had 2 very large conference rooms with all their newest products and old favorites. Emerson had a healthy amount of people surveying their inventory! I saw at least 15 microwave ovens with 3 new models which will be a definite hit. A very high tech looking silver with gold trim microwave oven. Kinda matches those modern sub zero kitchens. Price will be low, looks great! Other colors: traditional white, blue and either green or yellow. (Can't remember which) Approximately 15 -20 clock radios. A direct set model- Easy to set the time w/o passing, the atomic clock (silver and gold color) and a smart set model which isn't atomic, but uses a micro chip to pre set the time-99.9% as effective as the atomic on accuracy. THE BIGGER TICKET NEW ITEM WAS A HOME AUDIO SYSTEM WITH DIGITAL TUNER AND VERTICAL CD PLAYER. THIS SYSTEM LOOKED SO BEAUTIFUL! STEEL WITH GOLD TRIM, LOTS OF CLASS, A VERY 21ST CENTURY LOOKING PRODUCT. DISPLAYED IN A GLASS CASE. If you saw this system you'd think it cost anywhere between $500-$800. Emerson's going to retail it somewhere in the $129-$149 area! So many more products.. An HDTV ready, amplified omni directional antenna, a cool looking tv monitar (very compact) which transmits through walls, floors, and ceilings. A vcr that converts all ntsp, pal, and secam input signals around the world. Also an atomic clock type weather band system. (For tornados, floods, etc) A cordless and rechargeable home security and emergency lighting system. Color TVs, phones, it was all there. Geoffrey Jurick was there. Had a minute to introduce myself as a shareholder. He was quite polite and said,"I always like to meet our shareholders"! Very much the player in the business sense of things and always looking for new prospects... GOOD IMPRESSION OF THE MAN AND OF EMERSON IN EVERY WAY. I might have forgotten something... H.H. SCOTT DIVISION IS EXCELLENT AND THEIR HOME THEATRE SURROUND SYSTEM (UPDATED FROM EMERSONS ORIGINAL) IS GREAT!!! THERE WAS A ROOM FOR HEARING IT-GOD IT WAS GREAT SOUNDING LIKE THX SOUND AT THE MOVIES. Lisa Pagano Kuch was the sales rep for H.H. Scott. Assertive and smart! Formally worked for Sony for 12 years. Knows the market target areas and HOW to sell. (licensing for MSN!!) Everyone answered all questions and were very helpful. If anyone has questions, I'll be happy to respond.
