Hey Pat,

Here's my guess at what the G1-CSCO announcement means, equipment wise.

If this is a LAN to LAN service, then CSCO will likely provide ethernet switches (installed at G1's CO and as CPE) and of course. routers.

One way to offer lan extension is via RFC 1483 bridging, which requires an ATM switch. So, from what I can see, it is still possible for NN to supply 36170 ATM gear, that would connect to a Catalyst ethernet swtich in G1's COs.

The reason I am such a CSCO bull is that even if NN wins the ATM core, CSCO makes out like bandits providing ethernet switches and routers.

And that makes both NN and CSCO long investors happy ...
