Good advice Mark. After I sell my dbcc, I am going to move my money into some of my safer stocks in the interim...and hold some in cash...and continue talking to you and this board ...:) You all have been wonderful. Ordinarily, I would not share something like this with a group of people I do not know...but..I want you to know just how and why your advice has been personally meaningful for me because I was very unsure about these sorts of investments.
My long time companion of 17 years died December 5, 1998. She had brain cancer for over 5 years and upon receiving her diagnosis and prognosis, I closed my legal practice to care for her. After brain surgery, chemo and radiation and alternative medicine, she achieved far more longevity than the doctors ever thought possible. They had given her 12-18 months. And she made it beyond 5 years.
It was such a blessing to have this time with her because we did not ever want to be apart. I learned so much from her about grace. We were able to do many things and go many places until January of 1998. At that time, she declined much more. Hospice came into our lives in February, and were a great help to us.
Over these five years, our income and retirement dwindled significantly. I became very concerned. So, about 5 months ago, I began investing the small amount we had left. At the end of November I bought 1000 shares of Mzon at 8.75.
On December 5, Sheila died. I did not even turn on the computer. Our family, children and friends were all here. We are blessed to have a loving family, great children and wonderful friends. And I have been so very sad since Sheila has gone.
One day, I turned on the puter and Mzon was 56. I thought I was seeing things. The next day, I sold it for 31...I did not even know how to sell the fastest way......
My purpose in telling you this wee story, is that when you are so kindly giving advice to others, you never know who you are really helping. I want you to know I am one of those people.
