That's some tough competitor I've got, Mardy. Can't fault his elaborate argumentation. Lee, Nokia has some problems with the displays. But as far as I know, the proportion of defective units is below the industry average. It would be nice if the proportion would be even lower, but Nokia is expanding the US sales of digital phones from 1 million units to 5 million units in one year. This kind of expansion is not possible without some glitches. It's something to keep an eye on, though. Consumers tend to have long memories.

Dave, Nokia should bring the 88xx model to USA next summer. It's not clear yet whether it will be launched in the GSM and/or TDMA format(s). Because the phone is so small, the Euro-version has a relatively disappointing stand-by time (100 hours) and a hair-raising price. The US version should be a little more advanced, because it's launcehd a year later. Let's hope they can boost the stand-by to 150-200 hours. I'm afraid the price may top 700 bucks, though.
It should be announced at CeBit next March and arrive to USA by June/July.
