I cannot help thinking, when viewing history, that anything that influences some people to act so horribly- en masse- has some dark side. Religion has its faults, as it acts upon the human mind. But then I suspect humans made up all their religions so of course religions would have in them intrinsic flaws corresponding to the flaws in humans- and imo, sometimes religions allow people to carry these flaws to incredible excess. I do not blame God, of whose existence I have no clue: I blame religion, I blame irrational complete faith, I blame the tendency within humans to persecute, to exclude, to fear what is alien.
