Mon 11 Jan 99 News Release
Mr. Michael Forster reports
Mercury Scheduling Systems has appointed a new vice-president of operations
to manage the delivery of its innovative crew management software systems
to airlines worldwide.
The company has appointed Rob vanSpronssen to the position of
vice-president of operations, responsible for co-ordinating and managing
all of Mercury's technical operations. Mr. vanSpronssen joined Mercury as
director of integration early in 1998.
After posting six new sales in the past four months, Mercury is now
preparing to install these systems for its newly acquired customers. The
company will be installing its new Magellan real-time day-of-operations
crew management system at five airlines, including British Airways Regional
and Legend Airlines in the United States. Mercury will also be installing a
number of NOVA, Cygnus and Regulus products in 1999.
Mercury's vice-president, Graham Whitmarsh, says the company will continue
with its successful sales and marketing strategy while it focuses on
building the product delivery side of the business.
In the past year, Mercury has launched its suite of airline operations
software systems and demonstrated its ability to market and sell these
products. The next step for Mercury, as a maturing company, is to transform
into a product delivery organization, enabling the company to meet and
exceed the expectations of its customers.
