I disagree on the stock running on earnings and here's why: Buyout speculation has been in the air for months now and the stock attracted momentum players. They have no interest in the stock earnings but they are interested on how much they can make on the buyout price. So, the market is trying to ajust the stock price to a buyout price minus risk of nothing happening. The adjustment will be even stronger today, because the rumor is out on the open (media). If there is a takeover, earnings are becoming irrelevant. Only buyout price counts. Think about it.
