Thanks, John Mr. Gurley is a smart dude. Mr. Hummer and Ms. Winblad as well. In fact, Mr. Goldfing knows John from many year ago when he was on the right coast.

Is this example not AMZN?: "To underscore this point, consider the absurd example of a Web-based company whose core service is to sell
dollars for 85 cents each. This company obviously could achieve record visitors and page views at its Web Site."

As for capital intensive, well most are not, most are as Mr. Gurley cites, spending huge money on marketing in an attempt to garner mind share. Capex does not equal marketing expenses, although some companies like AOL of old treated them that way.
