Blankmind, Sorry for mis-paraphrasing you! I'll try to be more careful in the future. amzn is trying to become a portal to other e-biz sites and siphon off from what others order from the referral. this does not cost nor have the overhead and shipping costs the core biz has. Not sure I understand you. I believe Amazon's affiliate marketing program has been very successful for them and is being widely emulated both inside the book industry (eg, BKS, hopefully BGP) and outside (see befree.com), although I really don't know who to give credit to for initiating this clever marketing program. I can not tell from your remarks whether you think such programs are a good idea or not. SC
