Paul, re:"off the wall data" showing AMD ASP is UP $32 over the last six weeks. I save price data from thechipmerchant.com every two weeks or so. For AMD the ASP always drops precipitously right before a new product announcement, the same as Intel. Its a fact that the ASP right now is much higher than it was before the 400 was introduced.

Many of the vendors on pricewatch are unreliable and they charge $15 to ship an 8 oz. package. Thechipmerchant.com changes their prices daily, charges cost for shipping and doesn't advertise what they don't have in stock. Even if you assume that the markup is 25%, AMD's ASP right now is over $100.

The two most expensive AMD chips averaged $120 at thechipmerchant for the entire month of November; right now, we're at $155.
