Thanks for the advice. I would be tempted to exercise the options and buy the stock for $100.00 per share, but that would require that I come up with a lot of cash. If I am going to eventually sell the leaps, I would like to wait until July, so that I will have held it for a full year. The tax savings by holding for a year should (hopefully) outweigh the loss in time premium. Would you agree?
