My concern is whether the MSO's are technically capable of keeping a rapidly growing network current. The a wide area network made up of non-technical users with vastly varying equiptment is a nightmare for even the most capable network manager. Cable TV as it stands is a low-tech business, and they don't even handle that very well. I'm still assuming that they will go to ATHM or T for assistance if necessary but its pure assumption. They will get it done somehow, but it will likely be much more painful than we would like.
As to the coalition holding together, I don't know why it wouldn't except for FCC (or maybe even DOJ) interference. But I know that large coalitions always have problems sometime. People have to fight with one another, its built into the human beast.
