Ratan: Should have bought some shares of this company,I think Anil has some and I am sure he is a happy man. ========================================= Technology News Mon, 11 Jan 1999, 8:05pm EST Satyam Computer May Report 3rd-Qtr Profit of 215 Mln Rupees Expected Earnings Satyam Computer Services Ltd., a computer software company, may announce a profit of 215 million rupees ($5.06 million) for the three months ended in December, according to the average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. The company did not announce earnings for the quarter the year before that. Expected Time The company said it plans to release its results around 9:15 a.m. local time tomorrow. Behind the numbers The company's profit is growing with global demand for India's talented and inexpensive programmers, analysts said. What the experts say While Indian software companies will receive less of a boost from rupee depreciation in the third quarter than in the second quarter, ''business was still pretty good,'' said R. Amarnath, an analyst at ABN Amro Asia Securities in Mumbai. A weak rupee helps software company profits because most of the money they earn is in dollars.
