I don't want to re-open the HDD vs. other backup media discussion, so I should stress again Sean's point that some kind of removable media--something like Jaz, zip, or perhaps ideally an optical medium like CD-RW--should also be part of the backup solution.

Automated Tape is the way to go for a backup strategy.

Now can we talk about removable harddrives?

The cost and ease of use seem hard to beat. I use 2.6 GB MO drives at work to move files (100 MB options do not work for me..way to small). An MO drive is just too expensive for a home solution. JAZ is a possible alternative.

BUT..How can you beat 6 GB removable for a hundred bucks?
