I had a broker friend of mind say that there are institutions on both sides of this activity. Some of those selling have a cost basis as low as $5 per share after the splits, so they are going to take some of those gains to dress things up. Not being a fund manager it is beyond me how they think and what really directs their activity. Does make some sense to me.
I tend to just write off the sell side to uncertainty. I assume if you are a fund manager going from quarter to quarter, or a momentum player, than CSCC is not the stock right now. If you are an institutional holder though, it just may be looked on as a great opportunity to get in on a long term play. Something has to account for the high level of buys. Doing 5 X ave. daily volume on bad news and only giving up 3 points isn't all that bad IMO. Of course todays volume was less than a 3rd of fridays volume so one could say things are drying up. :-} . I do believe the institutional and fund holders are running the show here.
