Richard: I didn't use a %return goal or any such criteria. I simply used 23 of the momentum stocks I purchased over the past year, looking for the optimized MACD looking back over the past 12 months. And I picked them indiscriminately. I ran the averages just so that you could get an idea of what I'm talking about: 29-19-6. I think these numbers are useless though since i.e. the 1st MA varied between 45 & 14, 2nd MA between 45 & 8, 3rd MA between 29 & 4. Looking at these numbers I realized that there was one result where the 1st number wasn't the highest. It was 36-45-29. Unusual example, though, since the next highest 3rd MA was 8 among the samples. I will probably run some more tests in the next couple of days. The results have been surprising so far, but I have to buy from the "hard right edge" of the chart. (g)
