INTERNET choices: know your company if you can.. using them helps also and of course TIMING is everything.

GNET,BYND,CMGI,NSOL,GCTY,VRSN,VRIO,CYCH,MACR, EGRP,LCOS.. I wouldn't say the choices I made were really that speculative or even 'imaginative'.. MSPG, and ELNK.. I've been bullish on those for about 16 months now and I was very happy using MSPG myself.. I got ELNK from a friend a year ago and found the were the "AVIS" of this twosome.

The portals were always in play as option daytrades so it was not that difficult to just hold onto them for a few days.. I havent' bought a share of MSPG, ELNK, LCOS or YHOO.. only options.. they still offer the best opportunity for 'leverage'.. for just 3 to 9k I was into 10 calls of all of them.

Because fortunately Market Gems is on the 'inside' of the internet e-commerce revolution and part of it, I have be able to choose companies that I have dealt with first hand.. EGRP, LCOS were all bought on upgrades as they were announced and posted on SI..and held until the momentum fizzled.. BYND was on the watch list and bought that day and held until Friday. They were far from 'unknowns' when I got into them. MACR.. I've got their latest graphics softward and I'm thrilled with it. GCTY.. my original homepage is on there and I still like to 'browse' around the various communities.. I belong to the "graphics ring" and thoroughly enjoy myself. I also belong to a "Photo Shop group" that comes from Geocities and we share photo shop tips and such..

VRSN, CMGI, VRIO, NSOL, GNET were 'pure' plays based on their control of their niches and/or actual earnings... You didn't have to hold these longer than 2 weeks (actually since December 28 was the last run I had in them) .. having sold NSOL for a double, missed a quadruple than back in again last week for another substantial gain.

You also have to be discriminatory.. If you follow about 6 or 8 or even less you will do much better than followed 3 dozen and confusing yourself in the process. I don't read more than my 2 sources on the internet.. and never ever read threads that are dedicated to one stock. that can be misleading..

Another thing I like to do is learn about other stocks in a sector when one has broken out very substantially.. I like TWTR because I'm 'into' those toys in a big way.. I liked EGGS because I've been a customer for about 5 years... I got some good tips off this thread like HDIE, SKYM, NITE that I followed up and adapted.. After doing research on EGGS I discovered ITN and MICA.. so it's pretty interconnected..

and lastly, TIMING, TIMING, TIMING... I've held on because i did not really have the time to track them so much intraday so I just held on to them for about 8-11 days, knowing earnings were just around the corner.. I timed the report on the internets for around earnings time allowing myself about 2 weeks for the 'anticipatory upswing'' it sure was an upswing and a lot more than I bargained for
