Hi Walter Jacquemin; Actually, I was thinking about starting a new thread for Xilinx bugs. The company has been incredibly responsive to problems posted here...

Of the three above problem reports, the RAM64X1S is (at least partly) my mistake, as I was informed in a private message. In order to respect the privacy of such messages, I won't quote it, but a RAM64X1S is intrinsically impossible in Virtex silicon. (I went back and looked at what had routed (with that strange error message) and found that the circuit as routed was correct: The MUXF6 was moved out of the RAM CLB and put into a separate CLB. So threre is still a minor error reporting bug there, but not anything of consequence...

The problem regard to the mapper not allowing registers on the output of RAM is scheduled to be fixed this summer.

The problem with not being able to register the output of SRL16s was not addressed specifically, but my guess is that it will be solved when the RAM registering problem is solved.

Incidentally, on Friday I reported a bug in the simulation for the SRL16E. Xilinx should be reporting on it tomorrow.

Speculation: I noticed that my Xilinx bug report messages come back with the word "clarify" in the topic (or somewhere...). I think this may mean that Xilinx uses software from CLFY to handle customer complaints. I made a bundle on that stock when it crashed about 2 years ago. It still brings back good memories...

P.S. Thanks to the Xilinx people for all the assistance. That Virtex silicon screams, and is going to make this company a lot of money.
