McMannic - Re: " Mpeg-2 is a bit out dated. Quicktime has been adopted as the standard for Mpeg-4. 50 to 1 compression." MPEG 2 is the standard for both Direct TV and Echostar Satellite broadcasting, the unified HDTV standard and the current DVD standard. Whatever the MPEG-x standard is, it will most likely be encoded on Intel based processors with KNI extensions. Funny that we haven't seen any 3DNOW applications for MPEG-xyz encoding ! Paul
