No. The 56kbps modem will not help this quarter's earnings at all. The news out on this is that beginning Feb. 11, Boci will begin TESTING a beta version of the 56kbps modem for Rockwell. You should not expect it to hit store shelves until, at the extreme earliest, mid-April to June. So don't expect any real impact on earnings until the July-Aug Quarter which will not be reported on until late September. In other words, if you got in in the low 8s, you are fairly safe. Anything more, you might get burned. This company is making a transition from reliance on OEM to retail ( a better ratio than the current 65 OEM - 35 retail. Also there is significant price war competition from Motorola. BOCI will likely survive, but you probably don't have a hope of explosive growth for at least a year or two, and who knows what the technology will be then. All in all, I'd move out of the modem makers.
