One last idea. No one has mentioned the Y2K grand daddy of all; airlines. After every interview, article, or talk show about Y2K everyone seems to laugh about not wanting to be on a airplane just before, after, or during the turn into 2000. I have even heard that British Airways is planning on cancelling flights during this period (not confirmed). Does anyone think that this is enough to cause market flucuations?

Purchase Puts on airlines.

I still like the mattress theory.
