Listen.... I am going to put this as mildly, as it is possible.
It is best not to touch this subject, IMO Emile is a damned racist and you are getting closer to the same designation. In more elegant terms you can say as H.L. Mencken said once:
"Mozart sweated beauty as a Christian sweats hate."
I can appreciate why someone would make the statement you made reference to, I would probably make it myself. Given the right circumstances.
So once again, if that is the best case you can present, you should be glad I am not presiding in a real court, as far as the court of my opinion, what I said stands.
And by the way, re: the god squad etc.... you must appreciate by now, that there are lots of people that god means absolutely nothing to some of us. I am one of them. I consider it an insult to be often reminded that "I am going to go to hell if I do not do this or the other".
So to make it clear with you:
1. I do not give a rat's arse about your gods, demons and hells etc. I agree with practicing the freedom of religion. But I subscribe better to the FREEDOM FROM RELIGION.
In short, my opinion of religion is like leprosy of the brain. So long you keep it to yourself... fine by me. Start preaching, I let you know my opinion, you do not want to hear it.
2. I will counter any argument that makes racist references. (within my own time constraints and considerations.)
