Kaiser says buy -- drilling could ignite stock

John Kaiser, making his recommendations for 1999 in the Dec. 11, 1998
Bottom-Fishing Report, says Island-Arc Resources is a medium-priority buy at 25
cents. Mr. Kaiser says Island-Arc spent the last market cycle as a merchant
banker to Larry Barr's stable of companies, all of which have become rollback
candidates. The letter writer says, however, that Island-Arc now is Mr. Barr's
priority, and what makes it a good bottom fish is its 10.62 per cent interest in the
Back Lake project in the Northwest Territories. At Back Lake, SouthernEra has
spent $4.5-million chasing the source of the diamondiferous Yuryi kimberlite float
in the Munn Lake region. Although Island-Arc has no working capital, "a
$1.5-million drill program planned for 199 could ignite this play," Mr. Kaiser
contends.
