Vince, in regards to the new MEDINAH belt. (ie extends from Andicollo South to the hills NW of Santiago) Interesting idea. Recall that historically, this area was mined extensively-mostly placer and vein.
Modern mining went high up in the Andes because the theory says the porphyry deposits in the coastal areas have all eroded away. Andicollo is basically the roots of a porphyry-which to have even the roots left is a bit surprising. Lipangue is mystifying because the top of the porphyry(the pipe)and probably all the rest of the porphyry appear to be left in tack. Can't think of any reason why there won't be other examples found. Homestake thinks so-probably why they have bought up all the property around Lipangue that is avaiable.
I have no doubt that J. Quijino has some other fine examples in his inventory!
