Carbon Monoxide Warnings Today's Ottawa Citizen had an article about carbon monoxide medical emergencies during the great ice storm last year ... unfortunately, it is not available online at their site. Most problems were caused by - Operating charcoal or propane barbecues inside fairly airtight residences. Some people even tried operating the bbq inside an existing fireplace, but still experienced illness. Others used them in a semi-enclosed porch, but left a screen door open to the house. - Operating standby generators inside a garage with the door raised a few inches. The main problem was that people would then leave the door to the house open a crack to get the electrical cords in, with the result that the air from the garage would get sucked in, again causing illness. Just thought the warnings were worth repeating here. John
