OT -- Real-world ADSL in Seattle See nwnexus.com for info in real-world ADSL offerings in the Seattle area ... info there includes US West and GTE rate tables, tables of which switches in Seattle area are DSL-ready (basically all), links to US West and GTE DSL info and loop qual requests. I put in an online app for loop qual, received GTE loop qual report on my two lines (both are good to 1.5Mbps), signed up for carrier service via ISP above, got install date within 2 weeks. Everyone knew exactly what they were doing. No muss, no fuss. GTE Rates (now running $99 install special inc. modem + all work) Bronze 256k/64k $ 40 Silver 384k/384K $ 60 Gold 768k/768k $ 80 Platinum 1.5 Mb/768k $120 We're putting 768K/768K in my home office and the same in our office across town ... GTE is changing a mux up the street from our office to enable the office install ... they sent two guys out to climb poles or whatever ... has been very responsive ... not at all like our previous ISDN experience. No ATHM in my area yet.
