mile, intel wanted to jump start rdram and hat wa the MAIN focus. having cheap dram in the future is another concern. mu can't spend the money the way they see fit. there are some constraints. they HAVE to invest in rdram or else they aren't in good faith. were not talking $10-20 here, either. mega-bucks. sure, some they might be able to redirect, but not a whole bunch. for example, they CAN'T 100% neglect rdram and just upgrade their txn fabs to sdram.
