Signal Technology Arizona and California Divisions Name New Vice President, Sales and Marketing

DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 1999--Signal Technology Corp. (AMEX:STZ) Tuesday announced that Richard S. Beeber, 51, has joined the company's Arizona and California divisions as vice president, sales and marketing, effective Jan. 18.

Beeber will fill a new position, consolidating the sales and marketing management functions between Arizona and California. He will report directly to Gene L. Joles, Arizona Division president, and Robert J. Schlaefli, California Division president.

Beeber comes to Signal Technology with more than 20 years of managerial experience in sales, marketing, operations and general management with companies such as Hughes Aircraft Co., M/A-Com Inc. (a division of AMP Inc.), Alpha Industries and, most recently, California Microwave Inc.

George Lombard, Signal Technology's chairman and chief executive officer, stated: "Mr. Beeber's strong background in both the commercial and defense arenas, as well as his managerial expertise, should enable us to improve our market position and help to diversify both our Arizona and California divisions.

"By leveraging the best of both divisions for marketing and sales, we expect to improve market penetration while realizing cost savings."
