Globe says Bid.com continues to rise

Bid.Com International Inc BIIShares issued 21,023,0001999-01-11 close $7.6Tuesday Jan 12 1999The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999 edition that Bid.com management must be just as amazed as its investors as the Internet company continues its stock market ascent. The Globe's Market Movers column reports that the stock advanced $2.10 to close at $7.60 on huge volume of 12 million shares yesterday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Chairman and chief executive officer Paul Godin put the reasons for the surge in demand for Bid.com stock to a "bunch of stuff." Wall Street analysts were receptive during a trip to New York last week, Mr. Godin said. and Internet newsletter TheStreet.com helped out by portraying the company's stock as undervalued. In addition, Mr. Godin says the company's goal is to have a Nasdaq listing at some point, a move that could bring even more neat stuff, reports the Globe.
