Jack,
No way AD even gets close. Cisco better wake up and get a clue. I have 65 sites connected to one WAN for which I am responsible. I have ten people that work for me on that specific team and we are currently looking at pulling the Cisco routers at those branch sites out in favor of Bay routers due solely to compression and NDS. CSCO....If you are listening "WAKE UP"!!!! That announcement a couple of months ago was pathetic. I have done a great deal of research on the policy routing and if MSFT and CSCO do not see the losing battle they are fighting then so be it. We have about 75 total servers. The mix is about 80% Novell, 15%Unix, and 5%NT. It works. It works well and I have doubled my PC count in the last twelve months with no additional head count based on Zen and NDS.
I definitely do not have enough Novell presently but I am so glad that people are finally waking up that I am not even looking for a serious pull-back on which to buy. I am adding as I go and even if the bottom falls out due to the streets ignorance, it will not matter. Once you see NDS deployed as I have it here, you too will be a believer. I challenge anyone from MSFT or the borg cadre they have created to dispute even one small detail of anything I have said. Even AD does not compare and if you guys remember the first iterations of NDS (SHIVER,SHIVER) then you know there is truly no comparisons. Anyone who wants to implement a 1.X release of a directory in their enterprise please stand up and take your own life. Banyan or something like that is about the only chance MSFT has to even breach a truly directory-centric computing model. Good luck. The stock is high enough to buy anyone but MSFT has to tread very lightly due to Joel and the gang. I love it.
I long for the day when I am not held hostage and have the right to truly choose an operating system with some applications other then WINXX. Hopefully, LINUX will truly get there but fighting against Darth and the empire will not be as easy once this trial is over.

Sorry to have rambled on,

David O'Berry
