Individual Investor Online Launches Expanded Message Boards
NEW YORK, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Individual Investor Online (http://www.iionline.com), which merges in-house, professional stock analysis with news and commentary, today announced the launch of their expanded message boards.
The expansion, a result of user requests, allows visitors to post messages on all stocks in addition to The Magic 25™, a portfolio of the fastest growing stocks selected by Individual Investor's team of analysts to outperform the market in 1999. Visitors to Individual Investor Online have had access to message boards discussing the Magic 25 since Dec. 9, 1998, when the new year's portfolio was posted. Investors will also benefit from the knowledge of Individual Investor's in-house analysts, who frequently post and respond to messages on the site.
''For many investors, message boards play an important role in their investment education and give them a unique opportunity to learn from each other,'' said Jonathan Steinberg, chief executive officer of Individual Investor Group, Inc. (INDI). ''We are looking to provide visitors with a higher-quality, more thoughtful message board than those they might find elsewhere. We feel the participation by our analysts will add tremendous value.''
Michael Valentin, General Manager of Individual Investor Online adds, ''We've custom developed our boards in house so that visitors can critique what they see and suggest features we might add.''
Individual Investor Online continues to gain in popularity among investors due to the site's relaunch late last year. In fact, the site's paid advertising impressions increased 34% to more than 4.1 million between November and December of 1998 as measured by DoubleClick. The existing Magic 25 message boards are also gaining in popularity and now account for between 10% and 20% of the site's traffic.
In addition to the expansion of its message boards, Individual Investor Online is updated at least five times daily to provide up-to-the-minute investment ideas and has upgraded its server capacity, allowing pages to load even faster than before. ''We are making a large, long-term commitment to the Internet and to providing our readers with best investment ideas possible,'' said Mr. Steinberg.
In late 1998, Individual Investor Group acquired InsiderTrader.com, an online distributor of insider data and independent financial research, marking INDI's first foray into paid subscription-based online information services.
Located at iionline.com, Individual Investor Online, which merges in-house, professional stock analysis with news and commentary, consistently delivers the highest quality investing and financial information to its users. Individual Investor Online is published by Individual Investor Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: INDI - news), an information services company that also publishes and markets Individual Investor Magazine (circulation 500,000), Individual Investor's Special Situations Report, InsiderTrader.com and Ticker Magazine.
