Jorj -- You had to ask, "Does TDFX look good at these levels?" FWIW, I got here via the recently announced acquisition of STBI by TDFX. Years ago, I bought STBI, mainly for their flat screen tech patents rather than their chips (which I knew nothing about other than STBI made money on them), saw the chip competition heat up and figured margins would compress, so cut and ran with my (by then much larger pile of) money. A couple of months ago, I revisited STBI, liked the fundamentals (even though I still didn't understand chips), and bought back in. A month or so later, TDFX (which I'd never heard of) made its move. After scouring sites like SI and checking the prospectuses on file online at the SEC's Edgar database, I decided to hang around at least through the merger and even increased my stake by buying some more STBI (they still make flat screens, BTW). I did this with the knowledge that it could be months, if not more than months, before I see a real return on this (i.e., I tend to invest long term - at least a couple of consecutive quarters hahaha).

But this was just my decision based on my personal opinion and may not match what you want to do or what you think of the potential worth of the merged companies. And I was using money from my sale of some IBM I had held about three years and didn't really want to put anyplace "safe" like a bank or a blue chip.
Regards,
Harry
