davidc,

The question is if they were managing quarters, why did they report
such a blowout in the June quarter. Qtr/Qtr growth had been in the
20%'s, then came Junes 44% blowout then the last two have been
17% (revenues). Not much managing going on. Sales are just lumpy.
RBOC's are notorious for bursty spending patterns.

The product transition has left investors to value CSCC more on par
with other communications companies rather than the big premium
it was getting before. Importantly however, what is causing CSCC's
slowdown (frame-relay) is also the reason it can return to glory.
CSCC has been selling frame-relay products to the RBOC's so CSCC
is a logical option for RBOC's to buy remote access/ATM products
from. CSCC is on the "short list" with Cisco, Ascend, Nortel, Newbridge
etc... Of course, their new products better have some advantage as
the RBOC's are not going to buy anything from them just because they
are CSCC.
